I come from a place… Kettle’s Yard

A commission and exhibition for Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge I come from a place…

The project focused on the North Cambridge area and in particular the Arbury Estate, which was built from 1957. Working with both young people and those who were instrumental in forming the new community, the project explores the needs of a new community, how those needs are met and the impact on a new generation.

See Kettle’s Yard website for a blog post by Katherine.

The exhibition included contemporary photographs by Katherine, photographs by youth group ‘Club United’, photos of Arbury Carnival from 1977 onwards, donated by the community and oral histories.

Exhibited at Kettle’s Yard 18 October 2014

Student Nick Willoughby put together this lovely film of the opening night of the exhibition, with introduction by Andrew Nairne.
