Creative Connections
The first Creative Connections project outside of London kicked off today. I’m excited to be working with The Farnborough Academy, Nottingham, National Portrait Gallery and Nottingham Contemporary on a new commission.
Today was the first time all the partners met. National Portrait Gallery had arranged a fantastic day for the pupils which included a tour of the collection, talks and a display of sitters in their collection from Nottingham. These include photographs of Laura Knight, Alan Sillitoe, Carl Froch, Samantha Morton, Ada Lovelace and many more.
Over the next few months, I’ll be working with the students to explore photography, their connection to the National Portrait Gallery connection and the area in which they live, Clifton Estate in Nottingham.
