When, while the lovely valley teems with vapour around me, and the meridian sun strikes the upper surface of the impenetrable foliage of my trees.
BadBoyz Boxing Club is an amateur boxing club, run by Errol McDonald and Janet Vitti, in a gym that is built in the back garden of a residential home. The club has been run entirely on a voluntary basis since 2013. Last year they received funding from the Biffa Awards which allowed them to build a full-size ring in the space. The club focusses on training Juniors youths and seniors who have a desire to Box competitively.
For the past few months, I’ve had the pleasure of working with staff and pupils from The Farnborough Academy, Nottingham to explore the area around their school using photography. The 22 students are studying for GCSE Fine Art and Photography. Each week, I’ve spent two hours with them. The first Creative Connections project outside of London kicked off today. I’m excited to be working with The Farnborough Academy, Nottingham, National Portrait Gallery and Nottingham Contemporary on a new commission. Today was the first time all the partners met. National Portrait Gallery had arranged a fantastic day for the pupils which included a tour of the collection, talks and a display of sitters in their collection from Nottingham.
